Privacy and cookies

A short account of the technical data the site needs and the optional analytics.

Necessary and optional technologies

What the site stores

  • The saloon_session cookie is created only after you sign in with a login or a one-time link. It identifies your session, protects your account area and saves you from entering the password on every page.
  • On the secured site the cookie travels only over HTTPS, stays out of reach of JavaScript (HttpOnly) and carries the SameSite=Lax restriction. The session ends when you sign out, when it is revoked or when it expires.
  • Your browser’s local storage keeps your analytics choice under the key saloon_analytics_consent_v1: granted or denied. The value is never sent to the server and stays until you change it with the button below or clear the site data.
  • Google Analytics switches on only after you press “Allow analytics”. The Google tag G-F5MNY2Z61T may then set the cookies _ga and _ga_F5MNY2Z61T for up to two years. Ad storage, ad personalisation and Google Signals stay disabled.
Club account

What data is linked to a player

After registration the club stores your nickname, salutation, login, a protected password hash, your evening sign-ups and your game results.

Your real name is neither required nor stored. The password is kept only as a cryptographic hash — it cannot be read back.

Optional analytics

What Google Analytics measures

Once you consent, the service collects visit and session statistics, the pages viewed and technical details about your browser and device. The Google tag and the measurements travel through a secured endpoint of this site, and the server forwards the analytics data to Google Ireland Limited to build reports on how the site is used.

You may decline without losing any site features. The detailed terms are set out in the Datenschutz notice and in Google’s privacy policy.

For questions about your data write to mafiasaloonberlin@gmail.com.

Your choice

Change your analytics consent

The button withdraws your current consent going forward, deletes the Google Analytics cookies the site can reach and shows the choice again. Declining limits no feature of the site.
